A long-distance move out of Munich is priced by volume, plus a per-kilometre rate of 0,55 € gross. What separates it from a local move is not only the distance but the planning: over 600 kilometres there is no second trip for something forgotten, and the drivers' statutory driving and rest periods shape the schedule. That is why the survey matters more on a long-distance move than on any other job.
What does a move from Munich to Berlin or Hamburg cost?
The base price follows the volume as it does locally — 1.100 – 2.000 € for three rooms, 1.400 – 2.800 € for four — plus the per-kilometre rate of 0,55 €. For Munich–Berlin at roughly 590 kilometres that is about 325 euro of travel cost one way; for Munich–Hamburg at roughly 780 kilometres about 430 euro. Whether the return leg is charged depends on whether we can pick up a load on the way back; we settle that beforehand, not in the invoice.
How long does a long-distance move take?
Up to about 500 kilometres it is a single day: load in the morning, unload in the afternoon. Beyond that it becomes two days, because the drivers' statutory driving hours are not negotiable. For Munich–Hamburg or Munich–Zagreb count on two days, and make sure the destination is accessible on the second — a vehicle standing outside a locked door is the most expensive hour of the whole move.
Do you move to other EU countries?
Yes. Within the EU there is no customs clearance for household removal goods, which makes these moves organisationally simple. Common destinations from Munich are Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Croatia and Italy — and we can advise you in several of those languages. Parking rules at the destination differ from Munich's; settle early whether a no-parking zone is possible and needed.
Do you offer overseas moves?
No. We do not offer overseas moves by sea container or air freight. That needs a forwarder with its own sea-freight and customs desk, container provision and paperwork we do not keep. We would rather say so here than take the job and hand it on — otherwise you pay an intermediary margin for work someone else does.
What has to be planned differently?
Four things. First: everything must be finished on loading day — there is no follow-up delivery. Second: no-parking zones at both addresses, because a 7.5-tonne truck can improvise even less at the destination than in Munich. Third: access to the new flat has to be secured for the arrival day, with a key and a contact person. Fourth: the additional insurance, because 600 kilometres of road means more movement inside the load.
Can I share the vehicle with other households?
Not with us. Part-load moving — several households in one vehicle — is cheaper and brings date uncertainty: your delivery day then depends on when the other consignments fit. We drive direct moves with a fixed date. If your budget calls for a part load, say so — we will tell you honestly that a part-load specialist is the better address.
Liability on a long-distance move
The same statutory liability as locally: 620 euro per cubic metre of loading space under § 451e HGB, whatever the distance. The deadlines under § 438 HGB do not change either — report externally visible damage at handover, concealed damage within 14 days. That matters more in practice on a long-distance move, because you will be tired on arrival day and should still go through the handover carefully.

What does a move in Munich cost?
A move in Munich typically costs between 450 – 850 € for one room and 2.400 – 4.500 € for a house of 140 to 200 square metres. The price comes from the volume in cubic metres, the crew and time needed, the distance, the floor and the carrying distance. Other companies give you these numbers on the phone. We put them here.
Rule of thumb for volume: roughly 0.3 to 0.5 m³ of goods per square metre of living space. A 70 m² flat comes to about 21 to 35 m³. Sparsely furnished tends to the lower figure; a full cellar and attic to the upper one.

Additional scope is charged only after prior agreement, never sprung on you on moving day.
On Sundays and public holidays: § 9 ArbZG prohibits employing staff on Sundays and public holidays outside the licensed exceptions. Sunday and holiday jobs are therefore only possible by arrangement and only where the law allows — at double rate.

Do I need a no-parking zone at the destination too?
Almost always, and it matters more there than in Munich: we do not know the street at the far end, and a vehicle that cannot find space stretches the unloading considerably. The zone is applied for at the local authority; in Munich it costs 300 €, elsewhere other fees apply.
Is extra insurance worth it on a long-distance move?
More often than locally. Statutory liability stays at 620 € per cubic metre under § 451e HGB, but 600 kilometres puts considerably more movement into the load than six. For high-value furnishings we recommend transport insurance at a value you declare yourself.
Can you store furniture along the way?
Yes, when moving out and moving in do not line up. It usually makes sense to store in Munich and travel only for the move-in date — storage at the destination assumes we have a facility there, and that is not the case everywhere.
What if the new flat is not accessible on arrival day?
Then the vehicle stands, and standing time is the most expensive time on a long-distance move. Make sure the key and a contact person are available on arrival day. If it looks like being tight, say so early — postponing by a day is far cheaper than a waiting day on site.
Do you do part loads?
No, we drive direct moves with a fixed date. Part loads are cheaper but bring a delivery window instead of a delivery day. If that is the better arithmetic for you, we will say plainly that a part-load specialist is the right address.
